A Night of Film, Art, & Drag at 717 Arts Center

Queer stories often center on escape. This one doesn't. And this is where the future gets made. Not at the center, but at the fringes.

Little Echo Productions and 717 Arts present Amish Country Queer: A Night of Film, Art & Drag, a one-night event at 717 Arts' newly opened Community Center on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The show begins at 7:00 PM at 717 Arts Community Center, 25 S. 3rd Street, Harrisburg, PA, bringing together an award-winning documentary, a celebrated portrait exhibition, and a live drag show for an evening of queer storytelling, art, and community.

The event is presented in partnership with 717 Arts, a Harrisburg-based nonprofit dedicated to creating accessible space and support for artists on the margins and fringes of south central Pennsylvania, and takes place at the 717 Arts Community Center, the organization's newly opened home base in Harrisburg's SoMa neighborhood.

Tickets are pay-what-you-can

Community. Sustainability. Support. Empowerment. Discovery. Celebration. Safety. Creative Space-Making.

717 Arts is an official nonprofit in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Amish Country Queer Screening & Discussion

Hosted by the LGBTQ+ Center.

Amish Country Queer follows Brady Pappas, a trans non-binary photographer capturing the vibrant LGBTQ+ and drag culture in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. For Brady, photography is a way to reclaim parts of their life that carried rejection and isolation, turning them into pride and connection, and ultimately creating a living portrait of the evolving possibilities of queer life in small-town America.

Colleen is an independent filmmaker and creative producer who specializes in finding the fascinating in the everyday — drawn to underrepresented suburban and rural communities and stories that are quietly radical, life-affirming, and conversation-starting.

The Fabulous Independent Film Festival

The Fabulous Independent Film Festival (FabIFF) is an annual celebration of independent LGBTQ+ cinema, emerging filmmakers, and transformative storytelling.

Amish Country Queer will be screening alongside THEYDREAM an autobiographical documentary that traces how art can become a lifeline in the wake of loss. Drawing on two decades of mixed-media filmmaking, Caballero revisits his family’s history in Fayetteville, North Carolina—interweaving new 2D and 3D animations with live-action vérité, archival materials, and raw, deeply human conversations with his mother.
